What is Watcher2?

Watcher2 is an automated file monitoring service that tracks changes to your online files (JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, JS, TXT) and sends you instant notifications when they change. It's perfect for monitoring APIs, configuration files, web content, and more.

How does it work?

You add the URL of the file you want to monitor. Watcher2 checks it at your chosen interval (5-60 seconds depending on your plan), compares it using SHA256 hashing, and notifies you via email when changes are detected. Every version is automatically saved to your account for comparison.

What file types are supported?

We currently support: JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and plain text files. All files must be publicly accessible via HTTP/HTTPS URLs.

Do I need to install anything?

No! Watcher2 is 100% cloud-based. Just sign up, add your file URLs, and we handle everything. No downloads, no installations, no configuration files.

Pricing & Plans

Is there a free plan?

Yes! Our free plan allows you to monitor up to 5 files with 60-second check intervals. It's perfect for personal projects and testing. No credit card required to start.

Can I change plans anytime?

Absolutely! You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately, and we'll prorate your billing accordingly.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and PayPal. All payments are securely processed through Stripe.

Is there a refund policy?

Yes. We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. If you're not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of your purchase for a full refund.

Technical

How do you detect changes?

We use SHA256 cryptographic hashing to detect changes. This means we can identify even a single character change with 100% accuracy, and we'll never give you false positives. Only real changes trigger notifications.

Where is my data stored?

All data is stored securely on Hetzner Cloud servers in Helsinki, Finland (EU). File snapshots are stored in Hetzner Object Storage with encryption. We are GDPR compliant.

Can I monitor files behind authentication?

Currently, files must be publicly accessible via HTTP/HTTPS. Support for basic authentication and API keys is coming soon in a future update.

What's your uptime guarantee?

We maintain 99.9% uptime. Enterprise plans include an SLA guarantee. Our infrastructure is monitored 24/7, and we have automated failover systems in place.

Can I export my data?

Yes! You can export your file history and monitoring data at any time in JSON or CSV format. Pro and Enterprise plans also have API access for programmatic data retrieval.

What are your support hours?

Our support team is available Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM CET. Enterprise customers have access to 24/7 support. We typically respond within 24 hours for free users, within 4 hours for Pro users, and within 1 hour for Enterprise users.
