We're on a mission to simplify file monitoring

Built by developers, for developers. We believe monitoring changes shouldn't be complicated.

Our Story

Watcher2 was born out of frustration. As developers, we constantly needed to monitor configuration files, API responses, and web content for changes. The existing solutions were either too complex, too expensive, or required installing software on our servers.

We wanted something simple: paste a URL, set an interval, get notified when it changes. No installation, no configuration files, no complexity. Just reliable monitoring that works.

After months of development and testing, Watcher2 launched in January 2026. Today, we're proud to help thousands of developers monitor millions of files every day, making their workflows more efficient and reliable.

Our Technology

Watcher2 is built on a modern, scalable infrastructure hosted on Hetzner Cloud in Helsinki, Finland. We use industry-standard technologies to ensure reliability, security, and performance.

  • SHA256 Hashing: Cryptographic file change detection with zero false positives
  • Node.js Backend: Fast, efficient, and scalable monitoring system
  • PostgreSQL Database: Reliable data storage with full history tracking
  • S3-Compatible Storage: Secure file snapshot storage with encryption
  • React Frontend: Modern, responsive user interface

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We follow security best practices and are GDPR compliant.
